Land Use/Cover Change and Its Driving Mechanism in Thailand from 2000 to 2020

Land use/cover change (LUCC) research is important for regional ecological conservation and sustainable development. There a lack of exploration long-time-series dynamics driving mechanisms at the national scale in study land Thailand. Based on Global Cover product with Fine Classification System 30m (GLC_FCS30) dataset socioeconomic statistics, we studied temporal spatial evolution characteristics LUCC Thailand from 2000 to 2020 through indicators methods such as use dynamic attitude, mapping Sankey diagram, principal component analysis, multiple linear stepwise regression analysis. The results showed that: (1) has developed terms agriculture forestry. In 2020, cropland forest areas accounted 53.77% 32.15% area, respectively. (2) From area rainfed cropland, irrigated continued shrink; impervious surfaces expanded rapidly, shrubland, other wetlands increased. (3) process mainly occurred two-way conversion between farmland, farmland. LUC largest transformed into types was (2.25 × 104 km2), transferring shrubland (1.40 km2). (4) influenced by socio-economics tourism. Gross population, main grain output, industrial value added, passenger income, urban population were key factors Our can provide basis decision support future planning management
